Settlement caught through a ghostly lens by The Irish Times

Anthony Haughey’s photographic installation Settlement was featured in The Irish Times today, 25th October 2011. The article entitled Through a ghostly lens: artist captures half-built houses by Frank McDonald, Irish Times Environment Editor, provides an insight into the artist’s perspective. Taking these haunting pictures of Ireland’s half-built housing estates at night, Haughey describes “The combination of darkness, artificial light and long exposures” as drawing “attention to the destruction of the natural environment as a result of overdevelopment.”
Settlement by Anthony Haughey will be launched at The Copper House Gallery on Wednesday 26th October 2011 6-8pm. Writer, journalist and political commentator, Fintan O’Toole, will open the exhibition.
